This past weekend, I went to a concert with my youth group. The concert was called “Elevating Haiti”, and all the proceeds went towards helping the children in Haiti. Audio Adrenaline was one of the bands that played and I couldn’t help but cry at their song. “Kings and Queens”.
“Boys become kings, girls will be queens
Wrapped in Your majesty
When we love, when we love the least of these
Then they will be brave and free”
This phrase right here is EXACTLY why I am doing this missions trip. EXACTLY WHY.
In God’s eyes , we ARE his princes and princesses, but sadly, some kids are not treated as such. When kids are given the love and affection that they so desperately need, their whole demeanor changes.
These kids really do become kings and queens.
All we need to do is love the least of these.
Another phrase from their song:
“If not us, who will be like Jesus
To the least of these”
WE are called to go forth into the world and proclaim the good news, to treat God’s children with love and dignity.
To express Jesus’s love for HIS people. This is exactly what I plan to do and I am so excited to complete God’s work.
