The Lord Will Provide:
Genesis 22:13-14
Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."
HELLO major news: I've been working all sorts of odd jobs and bumming around in my Dad's car, waiting on a paycheck so I can get my own, but sending all the paychecks I get down to AIM to pay for the Race.
Last night, after the end of one of the most emotionally draining weekends I'd had in a LONG time, I got home and was just unloading on my parents, telling them how all of the drama and how poorly I'd handled everything, I collapsed in my usual pile on the floor, fighting tears and feelings of inadequacy.
My mom then turned to look at me and asked if she could do something nice for me. A nice gesture, which I promptly turned down, having no idea what would make me feel better (which probably stemmed from not even really knowing why I was upset).
An hour later, we were pulling into my aunt and uncle's home, and then I drove away a few minutes later IN A CAR THEY HAD GIVEN ME.
I'm sorry, at what point did I begin questioning that God provides? Because He TOTALLY does! And how sad is it that I need to have something as HUGE as a CAR to remember? Can't I see it in all of the little things? Yes, but those realizations of his provisions are few and far between– instead of being daily consumed by His mercy and grace, I so easily get caught up in the trivial dramas of life.
That's not how I was called to live.
Thank you, John and Eileen, for this incredible blessing. It's such an important reminder to me to TRUST IN THE LORD (Proverbs 3:5) because He DOES provide!
