With two months left in the Race, the time has come to begin making plans for re-entry. We were advised to hit the States with a plan so we didn’t wander around, lost and confused, wondering what to do and secretly waiting for a folder marked “Life Plan” to land in our laps.

So.

What am I doing?

What things this year have changed me so inalterably that I can’t go back to being who I was?

What causes will I now refuse to ignore, sick of the ignorance that plagues so much of a content nation?

Seth gave me some things to look for where I may go:
1.       Community
2.       Mentoring
3.       Opportunities (to grow and to make a difference)

So I started asking some key people these questions:
1.       What does your community look like now, and could I be a part of it?
2.       How are you growing?
3.       Do you feel like you’re making a difference?
4.       Is there a place for me there?

The responses I got were incredible and full of both hope and confirmation. It’s cool to look back on your year and see where you came from, what you learned, who you’ve become. It’s important to do sometimes because it’s so easy to get dragged down in the monotony of life and forget that there is more to this than just waking up in the morning and going about these days.

“This is it. This is life in all its glory, swirling and unfolding around us, disguised as pedantic, pedestrian non-events. But pull off the mask and you will find your life, waiting to be made, chosen, woven, crafted…
You have stories worth telling, memories worth remembering, dreams worth working toward, a body worth feeding, a soul worth tending, and beyond that, the God of the universe dwells within you, the true culmination of super and natural.
You are more than dust and bones.
You are spirit and power and image of God.
And you have been given Today.”

So here’s my question for you: can you answer these questions? Can you identify community, mentors and opportunities? How have you grown this last year, and what are you going to do to encourage growth in this next one?
