this is an answer from the Q&A blog. feel free to ask more! 🙂

Question: What are you looking forward to most about coming home? What do you think the hardest thing about coming home will be?

Answer: Right now, I’m excited to see my family. I could care less about the food and the running water and the real beds, I just want to sit on the couch with my parents and siblings and be. I know once I arrive things will change, but in this moment, that’s all I even see.

The hardest thing about being home is going to be the loss of this new family I’ve grown to love. These people know me the best right now, love me even when I’m a mess (frequently), understand all the inside jokes because they’ve walked beside me these last eleven months. Yeah, I’m sick of them most of the time, but even at my most frustrated that I can’t escape them, I love them, and come Thanksgiving, we’re all going to be parting ways forever, and I can’t even fathom what that will be like.
