Question: Did all those carbs make you not able to poop? And did you get stomach sock frequently??
Answer: What's stomach sock??
Alright, let's be honest here for a second. You want poop stories, prepare yourself for some poop stories.
India wasn't so bad. I thought I would spend every waking moment on the toilet, and I found I was fine.
Nepal was a nightmare. That was the month of the infamous four- girls- puking- in- the- same- night- with- no- water- lights- or- toilet- paper (and when I say puking, I also mean… you know, the other end). Nepal was also the month of the lesser known night- I- woke- myself- up- with- my- own- diarrhea- attack.
No, that doesn't mean I woke up because I had to go, I woke up because I just went.
Romania was a joy because we had real toilets, but one week I got a little constipated and when it all came out… well, that was the end of the toilet joy.
Moldova was one toilet for 7 people- 3 guys. Not so bad when you're used to brothers, kind of frustrating when you're late for church. 😉
Swaziland had bathrooms that opened to a preschool, so it was busy, but there wasn't much pooping drama.
Mozambique didn't have running water, so we had to "flush" with water from the well, and sometimes we ran out and the poop piled up…
South Africa was back to real toilets and no personal problems to report.
Right before Thailand I got reeeaaallllyyyy constipated, so on travel day I ate an entire box of high fibre cereal (note to future Racers- never do this). After lying on my stomach for the next few miserable hours, it all came out, just in time for 4 days of travel.
Cambodia had a few diarrhea instances, but nothing serious.
Australia marked a week of butt pee (you can figure out for yourself what that one means). Luckily we had nice toilets.
Malaysia had a bit of drama when the squatties exploded and we were without bathrooms for a few days (you'd be surprised the way girls get creative when they have to). I also got sick this week and spent the night trying to throw up and occasionally getting out some diarrhea instead.

(the day after being sick)
Looking back, I really had an easy year. I stayed pretty healthy, had fairly regular BMs (bowel movements), and only the occasional EDD (explosive doo doo).
I've also learned (the hard way) that staying hydrated works miracles! Also, I can go to sleep even if I have to pee (something you learn when it's freezing cold, there are witches next door doing loud things in the dark, and you're pretty sure there's no TP left).
