Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the days of my life!
I have some very EXCITING news to share with you all, but first I’m going to give some updates!
I would like to introduce you to my team, Wild Fires! We felt this team name applied, due to some words spoken over our squad at training camp. We want to spread the Gospel wherever we go like Wild Fires at just won’t stop spreading. Our team desires to grow this year with the Lord in all areas of our lives. And not be ashamed of looking wild and crazy for the Lord.
With no further ado, here is the amazing group of ladies I’ll be serving with!
Ally Miller
Ally is coming from Colorado. She is our team leader! She is going to be the most amazing leader, I just know it! She is a very kind leader, that makes sure we are informed promptly and informatively. We are truly blessed to have her as our leader!
Jessica Torres
Jessica is coming from Virginia. she is just great! Always willing to talk and lift you up. And I love the energy she brings to our team. I’m excited to serve with her and learn from her.
Melissa Jordan
Melissa is coming from Texas. This lady is amazing! She has a kind spirit that is always willing for whatever is ahead. I can’t wait to get to know her better.
Rebecca Runyon
Rebecca is coming from Arizona. She always has great insight, and really helps a person think. I enjoyed my time with her at training camp and I’m excited to spend more time with her on the race.
Lauren Weir
Lauren is coming from Washington. she is a very strong woman! Her relationship with the Lord is beautiful. She’s a quieter person, but when she speaks you need to be listening because her insight is legit and impactful. Serving with her is going to be amazing.
Last but definitely not least!
Carole Chamberlin
Carole is a sweet soul that you can learn so much from! I think she brings a spirit of peace to our group that we all can learn from. I’m thrilled to serve alongside her.
That’s my team! They’re AMAZING!
I also have some more exciting news! Not the big news, that’s still to come!
I know where we are going to be staying in Guatemala, and what we’ll be doing!!
The city we’ll be staying right outside of is Antigua, Guatemala!
This is the vision of the ministry we’ll be working with.
“Weexist to empower Guatemala by coming alongside pastors and leaders through community development(SERVE), discipleship(DISCIPLE), and activation of the church(SEND) to establish the kingdom of God.
We serve communities through water filter distribution, stove installation, and shoe distribution. (Matt 20:28, Acts 2:45, Galatians 5:13)
We disciple through monthly church mobilization conferences, Beauty for ashes, one-on-one discipleship, and community gatherings. (Matt 28:19, Acts 2:8, Timothy 2:2, 2 Timothy 3:16)
We serve through training &mobilization (Romans 10:14-15, Luke 10:1-3)”
Our team will be working with one of two ministries. One is a school that ministers to impoverished families. where we will be helping with projects once the school year is finished. It will be a fun time as we help the children wrap up the school year. The second ministry is with a Guatemalan missionary who travels to different schools to teach biblical values to middle and high schoolers. There may also be other various ministry opportunities.
Types of transportation are chicken bus, tuk tuk, or van.
