I was out on a run this week with one of my teammates. We hit the road right in front of our ministry site. As Haley and I left, we decided to go in a direction that we had not gone yet. For once, it wasn’t raining, and you could see little rays of sunshine peaking out behind the gray clouds. It rains here and is constantly overcast, so this was a welcome change.

As we set out down the road, we enjoyed the views of all the beauty around us. Without fog, we were able to see distant hills and valleys that are normally swallowed up by the fog. On our way back, I pulled out my phone to take a few snapshots of the sights. Haley made the comment to wait a little bit more to where I could see the view better and take a picture of the whole scenery.

I know it’s a bit cheesy, but I automatically thought, “this is how God is”. Since being on the race, and even walking my life with the Lord, there have been so many times where I just want to stop and look at the scenery. Perhaps thinking, “this is it, this is what God has for me”. But if I really listen to His voice, I find that He is calling me to keep on going, to keep continuing in the journey, only to discover that there is even more, and it keeps getting better.

Its a reminder to me that the World Race is not an end all. My growth will not stop after the race, and my journey with God will not be completed, praise God! This is only the beginning, and only the gateway to whatever He has next. As I continue in my walk with Him, I can see that each step is only such a tiny portion of what He has.

My team and I arrived safely in Nicaragua about two weeks ago. We are staying in a little mountain town and working with a mission called Casa De Gozo, House of Joy. It is an after school program for the youths of the town. Kids come after school to hang out and play games. On Saturday, there is a more extended program where they come for lunch, have organized game time, and hear a teaching from God’s Word.

Our days include little projects around the house in the mornings, and then joining in with the kids in the afternoons. Last week we survived our first hurricane on the World Race, so many of our days consisted of sweeping water out of the house and emptying buckets of rain water dripping in from the leaky roof. What an adventure it was!

Thank you for your continued prayers. We have a few weeks left here before we head to El Salvador for our final month. Time has flown, but I know God still has exciting things in store for these last remaining weeks!
