Antananarivo, Madagascar — the most unpronounceable name of a city I have yet encountered. It’s such a busy city. The buildings just go wherever the builders deemed them to be able to fit. The streets are so busy, and traffic is absolutely insane! One day it took us three hours to travel thirty kilometers via public transportation. Overall, driving or walking through this city never leaves you without some sort of entertainment, people watching being the number one.

Fruit stands are common here, and very often look just like this one. The produce is so cheap and so very yummy. Those spiky pink balls are delicious and taste kind of like a skinless grape. I got three of them for the equivalent of two pennies!

Here are some of the kiddos we get to teach for an hour every Monday through Friday. We sing songs, play a game, and learn basic English. Teaching English has been something out of my comfort zone, but these kids are gracious and are actually learning! After our first week, they can sing our little jingle without having to repeat after us! Progress!

We introduced “Duck, Duck, Goose!” to them. They say “duck, duck, go!”, but I guess its close enough!

Here we are (all but Mariah) with our awesome translators. We would have been lost without them many times! They’re all twenty years old or less, yet they are sacrificing their time to translate for us and help spread the Gospel here in Madagascar!

We also paint a few hours each week. Here we are sporting our fancy threads that we picked up in a Malagasy thrift store. We did not want to ruin our own clothes, so we bought these instead! As usual, we picked the most ridiculous clothing we could find.
