We had a few days of debrief in South Africa right after we left Mozambique. On one of those days, we were blessed to be able to go on an African safari! We saw the “Big 5” — elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and water buffalo. Our guide said that it’s rare to see all five in one day. We know that the Lord wanted to bless us and show us His creation!

A few times a week we help teach at the preschool that is here on site in Nsoko, Swaziland. It normally involves the abc’s, listing the days of the week, counting to 20, singing songs, and playing on the playground. You leave a bit frazzled, but with a full heart from loving on 25+ kiddos. They can be a tough bunch, but they’re worth it.

Another part of our ministry is going to a care point 2-3 times a week. Here, the kids in the community come for a meal most days of the week. They are also taught a lesson and play games. The main goal here is for discipleship amongst the Swazi youth. My team and I have had so much fun loving on these kids, teaching them games and songs, and trying to communicate to them the powerful love of Jesus.

This is a good depiction of our days at the care point: sitting in dirt with a kid in your lap. There’s always a hand that needs to be held or two or three. The kids fight each other for our attention.

Our feet are dirty literally all the time. The end.

On our off days, its not uncommon to go to a local restaurant and safari place to use limited wifi and get some food. This zebra also just happens to reside there. We try to pet him, but he normally just tries to bite you to show his appreciation. But, I can now say that I’ve pet a zebra, so I guess that’s pretty neat.
