Well, one thing you learn on the World Race is to be flexible. So, flexible I will (and kind of have to) be!
This week, we received some news of a route change. Our squad will no longer be traveling to China or Mongolia due to visa complications and ministry falling through, respectively. Rather, we will be spending three weeks in Malaysia, three weeks in Indonesia, and three weeks in Thailand. (Hip hip hooray for authentic Thai food!) We were actually given the choice, as teams, to pray about either Indonesia or Sri Lanka. After much prayer, my team and I felt the Holy Spirit leading us to choose Indonesia. Other teams on my squad will be embarking to Sri Lanka. We will be the first WR squad to have a split squad month!
China and Mongolia were at the top of my list as far as countries that I was most excited to visit, so naturally I was quite disappointed by this news. But, I know that God is in the midst of this abrupt change and He knew from the very beginning that I would not actually be going to those two countries at this time. I’m excited to see what He has in store in these new places we have the privilege of going to.
