Jaimasih! This is a Nepali greeting among Christians that means “Victory in the Lord”. I have now been in Nepal for a couple days, and so far I love this country! Team Gladiators and Team Undefined are staying in a little apartment in Lalitpur, Kathmandu. We have a beautiful view of the city and the mountains that surround us from our terrace.

We have already been out and about a few times exploring the city: trying new foods (mo-mos), grocery shopping at the local Big Mart, and getting fitted for our own Punjabis (traditional dress for Nepalese and Indian women). We also attended an international church yesterday – over 70 nations represented!
Our ministry for the month will be with The Agape Mission International otherwise known as TAMI Asia. They primarily focus on children’s ministry for both slum kids and street kids as well as women’s ministry. They are also very intentional about growing and training leaders from among the people. While we haven’t started ministry yet, everything that was described sounded amazing. The heart of Jesus is really in these people and I cannot wait to begin working with them.
Before we begin that ministry, we are first headed on a week-long trek to several mountain villages. We leave tomorrow! I really do not know what to expect but I am excited to get out of the city for a little while and experience a different side of life in Nepal. Communication with the outside world will probably be non-existent while we are gone, but I know God will use that to benefit us all.
It’s hard for me to write much else because ministry has not yet begun, but I want to let everyone know that I made it safe and sound, and that God is definitely at work here in Nepal. Please be praying for our teams as well as the people serving with The Agape Mission.
