Where has the time gone? I actually wrote out the details for this post almost a month ago, but then life got busy. The last five weeks were great, but I packed them very full. When you leave for 11 months there are a lot of people to say goodbye to. The last week was most stressful, between getting everything ready to go, moving my stuff back to my parents and saying goodbye.
But now I am here, in Atlanta, at launch. After over a year of planning and waiting, it is finally time. While I am going to miss a lot of people and I am still stressed over forgetting something, I am ready. I know this is what God wants me to do and I am excited to get started!!
So before I fly out of the country, here are some updates:
Route: My route has changed slightly. I am going to the same 11 countries, but in a new order: Nepal, India, Thailand, Cambodia, South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Romania, Moldova, Guatemala & Nicaragua. I fly to Nepal on July 3rd. 2 days!!
My Squad: I will be traveling to my 11 countries with the 42 other members of G Squad (see picture). These are amazing people from all over the United States (and Canada!) who love Jesus and have answered God’s call for them to go on this journey. Please keep them in your prayers throughout the year!
My Team: I will be doing life and ministry with the lovely ladies of Team Gladiators. While it was not the team we all necessarily expected, I know God placed us together. Therefore I cannot wait to get to know and love my new sisters in Christ. Their blogs can be found on the left. I encourage you to love them and pray for them as well.
Finally – Support Status: I am currently 70% funded. This means I still have to raise ~$5,000 in the next several months. If you are still interested in financially supporting my journey, please email me at [email protected] for more information or click on the “Support Me” tab on the left side of my blog. For those who have already supported me, I thank God for you. I could not go on this journey without your support and encouragement.
Thank you for following my journey and for being a part of what God is doing in my life and around the world!
