On Thursday September 1st I went with my team to a soup kitchen in town. Before we left someone needed to prepaid a short message to give and I really felt it in my heart that I should be the one to preach. So I spent some quite time and felt like I should speak from Isaiah 12:2. The scripture I was drawn to says,” behold God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
At first I felt weird writing a salvation message with the standpoint of having a relationship with God. The more I prayed about it the more the messaged flowed so I decided to trust that it was what needed to be preached on. When we got to the soup kitchen we opened with my messaged. I preached about how God loves us and wants a relationship with us. How once we have a relationship with him he is our strength, and provides all that we need. After the message we began to pass out the food. Me and one of my team makes got pulled aside to pray for a lady. After the prayer she was grateful so I went back to serving and the pastor in charge pulled me aside and walked me back to the lady. She wanted me to lead her in a prayer of salvation! She wanted to have a relationship with God! So the pastor translated and he repeated after me then she repeated after him. She let Christ into her heart so she could have a relationship with him and I got to be apart of it!
Praying with her made me feel so much joy I wanted to cry! I have never prayed with someone like that before. The reason I needed to speak on salvation was because that’s what she needed to hear. It’s amazing how God works. I wasn’t super confident about the message, but I was faithful and let God use me. That resulted in a woman giving her life to Christ. It’s amazing how when we say yes to God he uses us for good. Since we have been in Lesotho over 200 people have given their lives to Christ, they now have a relationship with him! People have been physically healed from sickness and injuries. We rebuilt a play ground, did landscaping, helped build the orphanage, just overall ministered to the people here. I have been truly blessed by this country this month! Our next stop is Durban for 5 days where we will debrief. We are taking some time for ourselves. We will meet with leaders, and overall get spiritually and physically refreshed. After debrief it’s off to Swaziland! In Swazi it’s all squad month. That means all 56 of us will be living/eating together. I can’t believe month 1 is over! It went by so fast, and I have been so blessed. Thank you everyone for the prayers and support! 1 month down, 10 to go!
(:
