I can’t believe I’ll be home so soon. This year went by so fast and yet slowly at the same time. God has changed me so much over the past 11 months. And I know He has more in store for me. My race may be near its end, but the adventure continues!
For the past three months I have been praying more and more into what God wants me to do after I get home. I had many ideas but no real peace about which path to take. I only knew I wanted to continue living life with purpose.
Our alumni squad leader, Hope, told the squad about a program through Adventures in Missions called, Center for Global Action, or CGA, and encouraged me to pursue doing that next year.
CGA is designed specifically for alumni World Racers, providing an avenue for continued growth, both spiritual and professional. It’s similar to a leadership vocational school. They offer various classes pertaining to spiritual discipleship and growth, leadership training and more. When we’re not in class we will get to work alongside other AIM staff in various departments, strengthening skills in areas such as management, office administration, media, marketing, finance, outdoor ministry, research, innovations, and funds development.
While at CGA, trained AIM staff will also help me fine tune and figure out God’s specific calling on my life and what to do with it. AIM believes each person has a unique role in the kingdom of God and CGA is designed to help us figure out what that role is.
Yes, the World Race has opened my eyes to a lot of things, but CGA takes what God has taught me on this 11 month journey even further, helping to solidify those changes and turning dreams and passions into reality.
Sounds like a great opportunity, right? The biggest obstacle I faced when accepting the calling to attend CGA school was that it is support-funded. Seriously? More fundraising? No way, God, I thought. I do not like fundraising. Who does?? In spite of that, I continued to pray about it just in case…
One day in Cambodia I felt lead to check my world race account – even though my race is already fully funded. At the time, my blog stated that I was fully funded, and I had not posted anything on facebook or shared with any one back home about my need. I looked at my account and to my amazement I had a new donation! A friend whom I haven’t seen or talked to in years had randomly donated exactly $100! This was the $100 that I needed to guarantee my spot and confirm my commitment to CGA. If that isn’t confirmation, I don’t know what is!
Since this is a support funded program, I am solely relying on God to provide through supporters such as you. My goal is to raise at least $1,000 a month. $300 of that will go towards housing costs, and the rest will go towards other bills (ie. cell phone, car insurance/maintenance, health insurance).
If 20 people committed to donating $50 for 12 months (or if 50 people committed to donating just $20 a month) I would meet that goal easily! Would you take the next week to prayerfully consider supporting me monthly for the next 12 months?
If you choose to support me you can donate via my blog by clicking the Support Me tab to the left, just under my picture. To avoid fees click here and it will take you to an alternative website for making donations. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
I leave for Gainesville, GA at the end of January. If any of you would like for me to speak at your church or meet with you one-on-one about what God is doing around the world and/or what He has done in my life personally and the season He is leading me into, let me know! I would love to chat. I will be available after December 8th.
See you soon!
