The countdown has begun! And I'm not talking about the New Years Eve countdown to midnight… that is soooo last year! 😉
One week from today, I'll be boarding a plane to Florida where I will meet up with the "mighty mighty" D-Squad (what! what!) and then, as a group, head off to Guatemala for month one of my world race!
As I've been packing up my house and my life these past few weeks, I've found myself reflecting on just how much God has changed me and all that He has done in my life this past year… heck, I look back even over the last several years of my life and I have no doubt that God has prepared me for this moment.
Every struggle, every bit of suffering I have faced, I now truly understand God allowed for a reason… Though I questioned His soveriegnty and even His goodness at times through it all, He had a purpose. He used it to make me a stronger christian, to strengthen my faith and to give me more confidence in my prayer life, (especially in exercising the authority I have in Christ.) Because two years ago when I was struggling with even wondering what my purpose in life was and why I was even alive for that matter, God was refining me and preparing me for the world race. Because only He knows the darkness and depravity I will face this year, and that I need to be ready to battle that darkness with the truth. Of course I am still human – the flesh is weak but the spirit is willing… so your prayers are greatly coveted!
Ways you can be praying over me this year:
1.) Pray that I will find my complete security and worth in Him. I want to be so secure in my relationship with God that nothing can shake me. I want to seek and find my worth in Him alone, that the opinions of others would no longer affect me in a negative way.
2.) Pray that I will grow in my intimacy with Him. I want to be so IN LOVE with Jesus that no fear will be able to hold me back or influence my actions (or inactions) any longer.
3.) Pray for me and my team and my squad for safe travels and for God's will to be done in us and through us. Pray for unity among my team.
4.) Pray for continued growth in God's truth and for unwavering faith. Pray against spiritual attack.
5.) Funds!! Pray that God would continue to provide as I am not fully funded yet. Still need $1,755 by April 1st, and $6,255 to be 100% funded!!
