As I look back on this month our fourth on the world race I can see quite a difference when I compare this month to the previous ones. Prior to this each month was marked with a schedule of activities that included service projects and visiting the locals. This month has been very different. We have been living with our contact and the youth he ministers to are brought to us. Each day there are a different number of youth around the farm. We spend the day hanging out with them, playing sports, working in the yard, painting or a number of other activities that just come about because of living together. The boys help with chores such as dishes or cooking and cleaning. They go to town to buy groceries or other supplies with whoever goes. We are living life together. There is no schedule we just do what needs to be done.
The boys are experiencing the love of God through us loving on them unconditionally. Our love is not determined by what they do or don’t do. They cannot win our love because they already have it. These boys come from rough back grounds and some have been involved in crime but this does not change how we feel about them. It is the same with God. God loves us even when we run from him. There is nothing you can do that can make him love you any more just as there is nothing you can do or have done that can make him stop loving you. His love is yours for the taking, it is unconditional. Just accept it. I know for me this was the best decision I ever made.
