In El Salvador Mother’s Day is always celebrated on the 10th of May, which is two days after the mother’s day we are used to. This year we chose to celebrate the women that are like mother’s to the children at the house. These children are so blessed that we had 8 Mom’s to celebrate this year. This is amazing that these children who are orphans by the world’s standards are so blessed to have so many caring wonderful women in their lives.

These women lavish love on them each day and then they go home and do the same for their own children. They work long hours with little recognition. These children cannot tell the difference between the women’s “real” children and themselves. This is God shining through them allowing them to have an abundance of love to spread it to these children. When we show love we can never run out God just gives us more. The more we give the more we have to give.

The children were so ready to help with whatever preparation was needed for the mother’s day party. They participated in a video that Katie painstakingly spent hours filming and editing until perfection. They were eager to help with decorations and pizza making. They signed cards for the women and loved on them. It was good for the children to be on the giving end and be able to return the love that these women have given them for so many years.

A couple of the children that helped make the pizza’s.  Nine out of ten pizza’s turned out perfectly the other landed on the floor and the children were heartbroken.
