My team Grace under fire has been stationed at the AIM base in San Juan with three other teams.  Each day we go off to our separete ministry sites.
We leave the house each day around 3:15 pm to walk 30 minutes to a very poor villiage on the outskirts of town.  The people live in cement houses or houses that are pieced together by scrap material.  The children come running calling “Americano” as soon as they see us.  They cling to us and follow us around where ever we go.  It is almost like we are celebrities.
The first couple days we have done childrens ministries with bible stories, games and singing. One day we went door to door meeting the people and introducing ourselves and some days we walk around praying for the people that they would know Jesus.  Each night we have a church service.  Not very many adults come but the service is full of children.
One day I got to meet a young teen who has autism.  It was very nice to see that he is well cared for and his family love him.  Working with adults with disabilities in Canada I am always interested in how people with disabilities are treated in other countires.
As we continue on our ministry in this villiage we pray that God’s love would shine through us and we would be able to communicate this even when we have a language barrier.
