God is alive in Viet Nam and I am so excited about what he is doing here. He is changing lives! We hear that Viet Nam is a closed country that people are not open to God but that is wrong the people are lost and searching. They are hungry for the love and acceptance of the Lord.

This week we were in a room full of recovering alcohol and drug addicts who were praising God for changing their lives. The day before we were in a room full of blind people who were singing to God and hungry for his touch. Last week we studied the bible in a room full of deaf young people who were signing praises to God.

Only God can take hurting and broken people and restore them. These people all feel God’s love and can sing praise to him for taking them out of despair and giving them hope for the future. The devil thought these hardships would keep the people in despair but really it just drew them closer to God. It reminds me of the story of Job in the bible. The devil tried everything to break Job’s devotion to God and took everything from him including his family and all of his possessions but in the end it just deepened his reliance on God. What the devil thought would cause these people we met to be bitter and lose hope instead God has used it for good.

Also this week we got to meet some beautiful children at an orphanage and play with them

Here we are eating a meal with some believers in a church near the Laos border.  We met a pastor who has gone to prison for his faith but that is not stopping him from wittnessing and praising God
