Hello friends and family,

It has been a while since I have updated you all on my life. A lot has happened since I got back from my race in May. I was accepted to alumni squad lead for the World Race and spent five more months (September-January) in the field leading V squad. I was blessed to travel to three countries I hadn’t been to yet (China, Mongolia, and Japan) and back to two I had been to (Nepal and India). During those months it was my job to serve alongside the participants on the squad and to disciple them along the way. The experience was nothing short of amazing. I was able to see God work in and through each and everyone of them during my time with them. We became like a family living in close community with each other and working together to share Jesus with the world. In the process I developed a passion for calling others into their gifts and for calling them into higher character to be more like Jesus.

I have now been home for almost two months. During this time I have had an opportunity to dive deeper into my own relationship with the Lord and to take intentional steps to become more emotionally, spiritually, and physically healthy. I have been able to travel to Georgia, Alabama, and New Mexico to spend time with family and friends. I have been keeping in touch with my racers on V Squad, who are still in the field until July. I have taken up running and working out along with better eating habits in an attempt to feel better and become more energized. I have been prayer walking my neighborhood and sharing Jesus with the people I meet. I have also spent countless hours in prayer, meditation, worship, fasting, and scripture to grow even more intimate in my relationship with my Father and to become spiritually refilled for the things God has for me in the next season.

So, what does the future hold for me, you might ask? In the immediate future I will be going back to Asia two more times to visit V Squad, as they are still out there working to advance the kingdom there. Every few months World Race squads have debriefs where they have a chance to rest and relax, hear teachings, worship, and receive one on one counseling. In April I will be going to Vietnam for a debrief and in July I will be going to Indonesia for V Squad’s final debrief. I am very excited about both trips.

I have also been accepted to attend the G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain in October 2016. G42 is a discipleship/leadership school that focuses on helping their students launch into a life of serving the Lord. They seek to inspire and develop leaders who are passionate about giving their lives to the Message of Christ. Their main vision is to make disciples who will make disciples. Many of the people who have influenced my life over the last couple of years are G42 alumni. After much prayer and counsel, I have decided that this is the best next step for launching me into future ministry. The program is six months of intensive discipleship and community along with teaching from people who have had great success in missions, nonprofit organizations, and kingdom minded business. My hope is that during my time there I will be able to narrow down what God’s call is for my life and begin preparing to fulfill that call.

Throughout the last few years God has taken me on a journey that has completely flipped my life upside down. He has taken a drug dealer and turned him into a man who He trusted to lead missionaries. Your faith, your prayers, and your obedience have played a huge part in that transformation. I am humbled every time I think of all of the people who have believed in me and supported me after all of the horrible life choices I made in the past. That is by far the greatest miracle I have ever witnessed. For me to move forward with this incredible opportunity in Spain, I will need more faith, more prayers, and more obedience. I will need you, the people who believe in me, to pray for me and ask the Lord if He is leading you to support me again.

I will need to raise $6,800. If you feel led to give toward this next adventure, donations can be made by going to the G42 donations page http://www.g42leadershipacademy.org/donate and clicking on the “One Time Donation” or the “Recurring Donation” tab, writing my name (Myles Willman) in the “Appealed By:” box under the “Leadership Academy Intern” button, then clicking the “Leadership Academy Intern” button. If you would prefer to donate by check, there are instructions on the same web page on how to go about filling out your check and mailing it. (Note: I have turned off the “support me” tab on this World Race blog for now because that account has been fulfilled.)

One again, thank you all so much for all of your prayer and support over the last few years. It has not gone unnoticed. I hope that you will consider partnering with me again in this next step.

In Christ,
Myles Willman
