One year. One mission. one purpose.
. After completing the Air Force Academy Prep School, I decided the Air Force Academy wasn’t for me and instead plan to attend seminary school. Recently, I was accepted for World Race, an international mission trip and will travel starting in September for one year to the following countries.
- China – the underground church is extensive and continues growing, amidst persecution. While there, I’ll bring hope to a people in darkness and depression.
- Mongolia – the majority of the Mongolian people are either nonreligious or Tibetan Buddhist, and needs of missionaries to encourage the Christian population and help reach out to those still searching.
- Japan – religious freedom has been in place since the end of World War II, but 84% of the Japanese people practice Buddhism or Shintoism and fewer than one percent are Christian.
- Nepal – I will witness to widows and orphans in their times of distress and protect the innocent who are prey to human traffickers.
- India – struggles with poverty and crimes of human trafficking, forced prostitution, religious persecution, and more. I will work with local churches to encourage believers and most likely be challenged by their testimonies. I will bring hope and truth to those that society deems “untouchable.”
- Malaysia – a people entrenched in Islam within the thriving metropolis of Kuala Lumpur, still live in ignorance of the Good News of Jesus Christ. As I delve into this culture of works-based religion, strong self-discipline, and uncanny faith, I will have the unique opportunity to deliver hope and point the people to their Redeemer.
- Thailand – one of the most popular places for sex tourism. I will witness in the city-where, like Jesus, I might befriend prostitutes or in the countryside, I may serve youth, care for orphans and encourage a remnant of believers.
- Cambodia – a source, transit point and destination of human trafficking. Unfortunately, the government is struggling to stop it. The people of Cambodia are thirsty for the hope that Christianity can bring.
- Vietnam – as a communist country human rights are limited in Vietnam, especially freedom of religion; most of Vietnam is Buddhist, less than 10% is Catholic.
- Philippines – I live with and give hope to the destitute, caring for orphans and challenging the growing number of Christ-followers to rise up.
- Indonesia – world’s fourth largest and home to the world’s largest Muslim population. I will explore uncharted territories and forgotten areas to work of the kingdom of God.
I am excited about this opportunity! Ever since starting my college career, I have felt led by the Lord and have a growing desire to tell others the Good News about Jesus to fellow college students all over the world. I pray through this mission trip, God will show more of Himself to me and will continue with me through university and seminary school.
As great as this may sound, I cannot do this alone and will need some help. For me to participate on the mission trip this spring, I need to raise $16,000 to cover the cost of my portion of the World Race budget. To meet this need, I am asking people to consider becoming a partner with me in our outreach to Poland in two ways: one is by praying for me regularly and two, by supporting me financially.
Would you prayerfully consider being a partner with me this ministry by praying and giving financially? I’m trusting that God will raise up partners who will support me with $100, $200 or more by my support deadline of September 1st. I know not everyone can give those amounts so I will appreciate any amount. God is the one who must speak to people’s hearts to be involved in my ministry.
Feel free to send any questions or concerns to my email at [email protected]. Again, thanks so much and I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for me as I grow closer to Him.
Serving Christ with You,
Mykal
