One of my favorite times of year is March Madness. It’s incredible. You get to watch college basketball all day long (I probably just lost half of our readers). The last two minutes of the games on those first two days are some of the craziest plays you’ll see all year. I even took two vacation days this year so I could be sure I didn’t miss a thing. Then it all culminates after the championship game when they play the “One Shining Moment” video. It’s a compilation of the best of the best from the tournament. It’s my favorite because those guys who have worked so hard all their lives get their shot to show the world their passion for the game. So this year, as Myers and I watched it together, we decided that we would use the song title for the blog where we announce some big news. We’re fully funded!! Glory to God and praise to Him who is always faithful to meet our needs! Looking back, we aren’t entirely sure of the thought process that led us to name this blog “One Shining Moment” but I’m confident it was incredibly logical and probably ground breaking.
We want to dedicate this one to all of the people who have so generously supported us. I remember not long after we signed up for this trip when we began to have the discussion of how in the world we could raise so much money. We had trouble in the early stages believing that it was a real possibility. We doubted, I cried, we tried to think of easy ways to make it happen. After a few weeks, we just prayed and began thanking God in advance for His faithfulness and that we can trust Him to meet all of our needs. As we began to rely on God more than on our own clever ideas (rent-a-puppy sounded better on paper), we saw Him use people that love us and love Him to support this mission. We are grateful for a God who says all things are possible through Him and delivers. We are thankful for the many of you who listened and obeyed when He prompted you to give. We are blessed by the many who have given sacrificially and in turn, encouraged us to give even more. We rejoice with those of you who partnered with us in this journey and share in the work the Lord is doing around the world. We are reminded of 2 Corinthians 8 & 9 when we think of you. Thank you all so very much! If you still feel led to give, you are welcome to contact either of our parents and they will give further instructions. It won’t be tax deductible but will help us with some of the personal expenses we have on the field not covered through the organization.

In other news, we have arrived in Bulgaria. We spent our first week on top of a mountain for a youth conference just above Sliven where over 1000 were in attendance over the course of the week. We were able to be refreshed and encouraged in the Word and to worship with Bulgarian believers. It was a wonderful week in a beautiful place with incredible people. We also got to serve them by cleaning the squatty potties each day. You wouldn’t believe how grateful they were for that simple act of service. We can learn a lot from that. Pray for these believers and for them to be encouraged in their walks with Christ in a country where being an evangelical Christian puts you in a small minority. We are in Dobromirka this week and look forward to sharing about our work here when we find our what we will be doing!
Also, we added a few pictures, so be sure to check them out!
