About Us
We met in 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School and started dating a few weeks later…just kidding. We let our friendship build for about 14 years and started dating in 2009. Myers proposed to Candace via jack-o-lantern the following year. We were married in July 2011 and now live in Columbia, SC (Go Gamecocks!) with our two dogs Major and Kasey.

We have the best families, friends, and support system around. We love our life here and will miss it but are excited for all that God has in store for us through The World Race!

About Candace
I grew up in a loving, Christian home and was blessed to have Godly parents who taught me about Christ from an early age. My dad is a pastor and I have always seen him telling people about Jesus and devoting his life to make Him known. My mom was the first prayer warrior I ever met and has been an amazing example of intercessor, disciple, wife, and mother. I love them both a lot, am so thankful for them, and hope to be like them when I grow up!

My older brother, Hudson, and his wife, Emily, are awesome sauce. They also live in Columbia and we are even in the same Sunday School class. They are great friends and we will miss them very much when we leave. Our nephew, Jack, is cooler than yours and is 2 years old. He is hilarious and loves Uncle MyMy, golf, making animal noises, and lizards. We are also pumped for baby Hazel arriving in April 2013.

My younger brother, Preston, is a budding accounting stud that can audit the pants off of anybody. Ladies, he's single, so get in line. He's constantly cracking us up and we will miss his laugh while we're gone. Also, he looks more like my dad every day.

I graduated from Wofford College in 2008 and moved to Tuscaloosa, AL to work at the University of Alabama's athletic department. I have always had a heart for missions and felt the Lord leading me to gain a practical skill for serving others. So I went back to nursing school. I now work as a labor and delivery nurse and am blessed by seeing the miracle of birth daily. I love Myers very much and am grateful for his kind heart, even temper, and zest for life and can't wait to have him with me on this journey!

About Myers
I too grew up in a Christian home and am thankful for parents that love the Lord. My dad is the hardest working person I know and he taught me his work ethic and about being a man of God. My mom is a caring educator who always encouraged me and pointed me to Christ. I love them so much and am blessed to be their son.

My younger brother, Will, is currently a senior at Clemson University (because he couldn't get accepted to Carolina). He is studying business administration and hopes to not have to move back home with my parents after he graduates. Sorry ladies, he's taken. We'll miss his quick wit and embarrassing him in front of his friends while we're gone. But we'll be back.

I graduated from THE University of South Carolina in 2009 with a chemistry degree. I now manage operations for a small international chemical disposal and recycling company. My heart for missions stems from several trips to Peru that I took in high school and college with my church. I never thought of myself as a missionary but am excited to see the Lord use me all over the world. I'm grateful for Candace as a wife and a friend. She has such a loving heart and I couldn't think of a better partner on this trip.

We are so excited that you are joining us on this journey and hope that you'll pray with us as we are preparing and serving! Check back often for updates to see how the Lord is working in us and around the world!
