YO YO YO it’s Mo!!!!!! i’m going to drop some details of what i’m studying with Papa!!! GREAAAT TIMES 🙂 lots of growth. more to be done. Yes and amen
2 weeks before launching on the world race, my home church had 21 days of prayer, where we got together and praised our creator! During this time, i felt the Lord telling me to read the whole bible. He said “how are you supposed to go share the good news with people, if you don’t even know what i say about it.” God’s got a sense of humor and a lil sass, let me tell ya.
Soooo fast forward, 2 days after being in The Bodes (cambodia), Team Kaleo and I found out what our ministry would be for the first month. We got kitchen duty. Dish duty. And we were not happy about it. My first thought, was that i came all the way across the globe to serve cambodia, not my fellow teammates from america. Right after thinking and speaking this, jesus changed my heart and mind reeeaal quick. Since we cook 3 meals a day, we get to go to the market everyday. We ride in a tuk tuk (motorcycle mixed with a trailer?) with the same driver, Mr. Sam. we see the same street vendors, like our fruit lady Lula everyday!! We pass the same lady sitting on the street. Also we get to love our squad really well.
God placed these people along our journey to build real relationships. Jesus wants my team to do what He did while he was on earth, to serve others!! So much about my own pride has been revealed. I constantly am praying for a humble spirit.
Now simultaneously with learning our ministry, i started from the beginning of the bible, in Genesis. i came to the chapter about Abram and Lot. They lived in the same land, and their families grew too large to continue living in the same place. Abram gave Lot the first choice of what land he wanted to move to, then Abram chose after. Fast forward, kings took over Lot’s land, possessions, and family. Abram chose to go and rescue him from the king, even after he gave up so much for Lot! This reminded me of Jesus’s love for us, but also my mother’s love for me! (it’s cool how god lines up what he teaches us, to what we are studying).
Now back to cooking for my squad. We cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 60 people, while cleaning during the day. Throughout my life, my mom had to cook for many people everyday. She had to cook large amounts and with a limited budget. That’s exactly what i get to do now. After coming to this realization, my heart was wrecked. My mom has done so much for me over my 18 years of life. Its insane how giving she is. Im so thankful to have a god who wants me to be better. I only desire to be more like jesus!!!!!
