Well ladies and gents, I’m entering into the final season of my race. I am in San Jose, Costa Rica currently living with my whole squad, doing life which is ministry. Ministry is life. This week is holy week, most business are closed and no kids go to school, so ministry does look a little different. This whole week, we split up into teams and do ATL (ask the Lord.) we start the day praying and asking the Lord for images and location, basically words of direction. It’s been super awesome! We have seen people give their lives to the Lord and healing, praise God!!!!

Since its the last part of the race, our squad as a whole is moving up “the Freedom V.” At the beginning of the race, we were at the bottom. There is not a ton of room to move. Since we are at the end, and we have governed ourselves well, we can move up the V and have more wiggle room. This practically, looks like us having say in ministry, or not needing a squad leader on adventure days, or we can stay out a little later. It is also called the empowerment phase. We have the freedom to choose when and how we want to spend time with the Lord.

After this week, I start working with the ministry Renuevos. This ministry is an hour bus ride away from the AIM base. We work in the biggest slum in Costa Rica working with Nicaraguan women and children refugees. I feel so blessed to have just come from Nicaragua, and i pray that will break down some initial barriers. In this ministry, we have freedom to help choose what we do with the women and children. We want to do a similar thing we did for the women in Ethiopia: a women retreat type activity where we serve them. We also get to plan activities and crafts with the children. If you have any ideas of crafts or fun things with the children, please comment them below! Same with the women, they have kids and had to leave their country because of the political situation. There is a lot of stress for provision in these women. If you have any suggestions to make them feel loved, please comment.

The Lord has spoken a lot over this next season of freedom. He has spoken the importance of diving into the Word together with my team. The Bible will ground us and hold us steady while we are at ministry. God is growing each of my teammates in mighty miraculous way, and i feel honored to get to serve alongside them and to be their sister. Here are some prayer requests over this season:

  • We have experienced some spiritual warfare within the first couple days of being here. I am not afraid, but praying is a way to combat!

  • Praying and lifting up everyone we will encounter and meet. I pray that love overflows from every person in such a way, they will not be able to deny the Jesus in us.

  • Pray over the emotional roller coaster going home can be, but does not have to be

  • Over my future and future decisions after the race

  • Ending the race well, not getting tired or burnt out, but revved up for going home to pour into family and friends

Thank you for reading and being apart of this journey!!!! Love you all. I am always in prayer for everyone who reads my blogs: more awareness of the love Jesus has for you and eyes wide open.
