The truth is, I’ve gotten too comfortable with being comfortable. Its time to start listening to God and what he wants me to do with my life, and God told me to “GO”
For my first Blog, I wanted to just post a copy of my support letter that I recently sent out to family. I hope you like it!!
Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing this letter to share some exciting news with all of you! Recently, I have been accepted to join The World Race. The World Race is an 11 month mission trip, traveling to 11 different countries. The World Race is sponsored through an organization called Adventures in Missions, they have sent over 100,000 missionaries into the field since 1989, with the first World Race launching in 2006.
My departure date is set for August of 2018. Throughout this journey I will be traveling to Haiti, The Dominican Republic, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, India, Nepal, Romania, Albania, Macedonia, and Serbia. My team and I will be spending a month in each of these countries living amongst the locals and carrying all of our belongings in a 50lb backpack. My team and I will be partnering with the local churches and ministries to meet the needs of each country. Each country and Ministry will bring about different experiences month to month.
I feel extremely blessed to have been given this opportunity. The opportunity to feed the hungry, love the hurt, help the poor, and a chance to share the word of Jesus with the world. Many of you may be wondering, why did I choose The World Race?
I first heard about The World Race three years ago and never gave it a thought. Honestly, trading in my apartment for a tent and giving up my closet to live out of a backpack seemed a little scary. For the next couple of years I continued to live my comfortable life of working two jobs and 70 hours a week, but I felt “stuck” and I thought there has to be more than this. I began to pray and ask God for something to fill my life with purpose, to my surprise he reintroduced me to The World Race through social media, and thus began this journey. God has grown this desire in my heart more and more with each passing day and I can’t wait for what’s to come.
“I said here I am. send me” Isaiah 6:8
Here’s where you can help play a role in this journey. First and foremost, I’d like to ask for prayer. I ask that you pray for my team and I’s health, safety, travel, growth of spiritual wisdom, loving service, and that we don’t stray from the “mission” to be disciples of the Lord and help bring others to him. I also ask for prayer for those partner churches and missions we will be working with along this journey.
I’d like to create a prayer team and invite you to pray for not only myself, but the team I’ll be traveling with. If you’re interested in joining please send me an email at [email protected], acknowledging you’d like to be on the prayer team. From there, I will send out email updates with our prayer requests.
Secondly, I ask for financial support. The total cost of this trip is $18,100, this will cover all training, travel, housing, food and other necessary items I will need while abroad. While this is a large number, I know God has called me to do this and I know he is faithful and will provide. If you feel called to join me on this adventure and help me financially, Financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation. There are several ways to donate to my trip:
