Training camp. It was so challenging and oh so rewarding. We sweat a lot, we took bucket showers, and we ate unknown substances. It was crazy and uncomfortable, and it was great.
I honestly never knew that Lord could bring a group of people so close in a span of ten days, but I have a feeling there are a lot of things that he can do that will continuously astound and surprise me. Ya know, our God is a God of wonder and vastness… there is always something to discover about our God, and I think there is something so beautiful about that. He showed me a lot about who He is this week and what He means to me and honestly I am in this place of feeling astounded by His beauty, by the fact that He lets me know Him, by the fact that He tells us we are His friends… WHAT PEOPLE!!!! We don’t deserve His love. We don’t deserve to get to know Him, walk along side Him, or serve Him.
There was a day this week that we did a fitness hike where we wore our 40 lb. packs and hiked 2.2 miles in 38 minutes with our team, and it was the most challenging. I came at it thinking “pffft this will be so easy” but yikes. It was not. Now I can really only speak for myself on this cause everyone on my team are freaking beasts, but when one of us was struggling (mostly me) we all would slow down as a team, all encourage each other, setting running goals so that we could make it in time, holding each other up, pushing each other harder…. all I could think was that THIS is what the church looks like. THIS is how God wants us to go into battle, with people who are willing to help you stand up when you can’t stand on your own, with people who will point you back to Jesus when the enemy attacks.
ALL that to say… BRING IT SATAN! Cause I’m going in with some freaking warriors who are ready and anticipating all God will do through us!!!
