No More Sickness

My teammate Jason came down with a really bad cough. It was
so bad that it was keeping him up at night. We simply prayed for it and the Lord
took it away! Praise the Lord!

Eyes and Earrings

It was my turn to speak at church and as I prayed into it I
felt like the Lord wanted to do something a little different that night. I
shared about 2 huge miracles in my life and then proceeded to boldly ask the
smaller congregation if anyone needed healing prayer. Two women came up to the
front. I took one and asked her what she needed healing from. She said she was
blind in her right eye. I began to pray and she began to cry. I took her to the
back and kept praying. I prayed for her 2 more times believing in faith that
God would heal her that night. Nothing happened or changed she just kept crying.
“God are you going to heal her tonight?” I asked. Not tonight He said. Just
trust me. She then proceeded to give me beautiful butterfly earrings. Seriously God? I left going ok God you’re the one that led me to pray for healing so
I trust that you will do the work. The next day I asked again do you want to
heal her tonight? I opened my bible exactly to John 20:29 “Blessed are they who
did not see, and yet believed.” In that moment I believed more than ever that
He would heal her and I don’t have to see it. That is my God, a healer, whether
we see it or not He heals and He does more than we could ever fully know. Would
it have been cool for her to be healed that night? Yes, but my true faith lies
in believing without seeing.

Elbow Restored

One night, my teammate Christin went to get into her hammock
and before she knew it she found herself on the ground writhing in pain. Her
elbow had taken the blow of her fall. We didn’t have any ice so we took some
meat and placed it on her wound. We sat and I just rubbed her back and prayed
for her. She said as I was praying heat went through her whole arm. She felt as
though she had fractured it but in that moment God did something. The next day
we prayed again and He did more work. The next day we prayed again. Eventually
she was praising the Lord with 2 hands up!

Running to Butterflies

My teammate Emily and I were out for a run one morning when
we came across a woman passed out halfway on the road. Her pants were
unbuttoned and she was laying in dirt with bugs crawling all over her. Our
hearts immediately went out to her. We couldn’t help but stop to see if we
could help. I touched her and there was no response. She was breathing but was
completely inebriated. I began to pray and speak life over her. I prayed for
protection from men and for the alcoholism to be broken off of her. We brushed
the bugs off her and as I looked down I saw little butterflies on her earrings
(if you don’t know I love butterflies and the Lord often reveals Himself
through them). I knew in that moment that the Lord had heard our prayer and was
going to take care of her. After that I couldn’t stop thinking about her all
morning. I prayed more for her and felt like I needed to find her and give her
water and my food. Jason gave up his break time to go look for her with me. After
looking for her for a while we began to pray and ask the Lord if He wanted someone
else to get the food. We stopped and prayed. As we prayed the Lord gave me a
picture of an older ladies face and then the color yellow. We kept walking and
then saw an older lady wearing yellow. We stopped and talked with her and her
husband. They invited us in which turned into a 45-minute conversation. It was
such a sweet time of sharing and praying for one another. They were so
wonderful. We got to bless them with a little food and they blessed us with
such hospitality and love. God directs our paths if we simply listen and then
obey.

God has done countless
miracles and more stories than I can tell. From holding butterflies to people
surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ, God is to be praised. I have absolutely loved Nicaragua! The people we have met and lived with simply took pieces of my heart. They began as new friends but quickly became family. We have painted a church, built a wall, evangelized, put on
children’s programs, and church services. It has been so sweet to see the Lord work through relationships. I will never forget saying goodbye with tears rolling down my face and theirs. I got into the back of the truck and I felt a little arm, it was my sweet Ashley. She grabbed me and gave me one last kiss on the cheek. There are so many moments like that that you can’t capture on film but its those moments that you will never forget.
