Just want to start by stating something you (hopefully) already know and can attest to. God is so good y’all. SO GOOD!!!!! My favorite stories are the ones about his perfect timing. A few weeks ago, a couple at my church said they planned on packing up and moving their furniture and it called for rain the entire day they wanted to. Then, a window cleared up exactly when they had planned to move so they could get the job done all clean and dry. Praise the Lord!

How COOL is our God that we can depend on for little things just like that?? That his timing is absolutely perfect! That he has already weaved out a perfect plan for each and everyone of his children and promises to never forsake us!! Ah, so much peace in knowing that God has a plan, even when I don’t.

I, too, experienced such a beautiful moment, realizing that God leads us where he needs us and opens doors after closing others. Over Christmas break I was told that my church would not be sending another team back to the Philippines, and my heart sank. I had actual tears. Our youth pastor and his family are becoming full-time missionaries in Germany, meaning they could not lead the short-term team wanting to go back this summer. After hearing the news I was so upset that I could not go back to the place that I fell in love with. And shortly 4 days later, I found out that I got accepted to go on the World Race!!!!! Such impeccable timing! God slammed a door in my face to open an even bigger one. Ultimately, he is going to guide me where he needs me, no matter what I think is best for me.

So, what is the World Race? This gap year program is designed for students between the ages on 18 and 20 to go around the world and serve the Lord for 9 months. We will be working with orphanages, schools, churches, hospitals, etc. to share God’s love to everyone we encounter. There are six different routes to go on; I felt led to choose route 2 which goes to Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica, and Ecuador! We will spend roughly 2 months in Thailand, 1 month in Malaysia, 3 months in Costa Rica and 3 months in Ecuador & I am so excited to watch the Lord work in and through my team. I am ecstatic thinking about what he has in store for us in the near future!

A necessary component leading up to the journey and during is prayer. Please pray for boldness, endurance, strength, protection and more for my team and I. This is not something that I can do on my own!!! In past mission trips I have seen and felt the power of prayer and know that there is nothing like it! So please, please, please join my army of prayer warriors for this journey.

Before you even clicked on this post you probably noticed the incredibly large number next to the “Donate!” button. That cost will cover everything from meals to airfare for the entire trip. Yes, that number is big, but we are blessed to serve an even bigger God! I am excited to see in what ways the Lord will provide for this trip! If that button is screaming your name and you feel led to donate and support me financially, these are the two easiest options:

  •  If you choose to donate via check, please make all checks payable to Adventures in Missions with my name in the memo line. Their address is Adventures in Missions, PO box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570
  •  By clicking “Donate!” on the homepage of my blog, you can donate by card online. After entering your card information you can select the amount and whether it is a monthly or one-time gift.

p.s. all donations are tax deductible & non-refundable!

I will also be doing tons of fundraisers to raise money if you’d rather support me that way. I will be posting about them on my Facebook and Instagram (@morgan_elise_7)!
