Now that we head into Month 2 in 24 hours, here are some of the crazy things we got to do in Month 1!
1. Wiped out day 2 – got to ride a moto home
2. Went for an 8 mile prayer march on one of the hottest days of the month
3. Met school administrators, local law enforcement and many others
4. Preached at a church service
5. Walked pretty much everywhere
6. Rode a moto home from a church service squeezed in between the driver and our translator
7. Remembered more French than I expected (and now that I’ll be speaking English for the month, my brain doesn’t want to switch back)
8. Shared the gospel in the market to a large group of kids
9. One of our hosts beat a lizard with a broom off of the dining room light
10. Did my laundry by hand every week
11. Gave biblical advice to high school students up the street from where we lived
12. Got the sweetest hugs from the littles at the house every night
13. Helped my host learn English one afternoon
14. Hiked 8.75 miles in a day to find a waterfall
15. Got a false positive result on a malaria test
16. Prayed bolder prayers than I ever thought possible for a teammate and friend
17. Ate ice cream and pizza in the same day
18. Carried water on my head from the well to the house
19. Only had WiFi a handful of times
20. Cried uncontrollably after saying goodbye to my new friends
