On December 1 my squadmate, Gel, declared a vision God gave her over Romania that the winter is over.

The winter is over for the cities of Craiova and Dragonesti. X-Squad has left Romania, but God remains constant there.  He remains sovereign — a boundless King— despite those who try to deny Him and the Kingdom. His work is still being carried out through the missionaries we worked alongside, believers we met through evangelism, and other programs such as YWAM. His presence does not depend on ours.

The work being carried out in these cities through Hope Church and others will start a movement of unthawing the icy hearts of non-believers across Romania. The citizens of Romania, a country once oppressed by communism and still experiencing after effects, will have chains broken and live in the freedom found in Christ.

The area we walked for evangelism will no longer be called the Graveyard, for the Lord brings dead things back to life. He will raise up leaders to bring a revival to these grounds. The darkness of spiritual warfare in Romania will be cast out by songs of praise and thanksgiving.

Children will be raised in families that are founded in Christ. The fatherless will know the Father’s deep love for them, one that is boundless and relentlessly chasing after their heart. Unified together as the body of Christ.

The Roma villages will find unending joy in Christ. Despite circumstances, they will remain faithful and know that God is present. Emotional and physical healing will sweep through the villages. The Roma people will no longer be treated like outcasts, but be accepted by others because there are no outsiders to the love of the King.

A revival is coming for Romania.

As we left Romania at the beginning of December and flew to Guatemala, I believe that the proclamation winter is over was not just for Romania, but also a proclamation over our squad. As we flew into Guatemala, we were greeted by sunny skies and vibrant colors. This was the first thought that ran through my mind as the plane landed in Guatemala.

Guatemala is also known as the land of eternal spring. Spring time brings new growth after the winter has pruned off the dead parts. I believe that God is going to bring wild, transformative growth to each member of our squad after pruning off the dead parts of our hearts in Romania and sowing seeds to bring growth.

The Father’s love is prominent through this nation. It is found in the smiles of people on the streets, the sweet sound of children’s laughter, and the vibrancy of this city. The Kingdom is full of life and abundant joy, two of the things I have found prominent in Guatemala within two weeks of living here.

Guatemala is experiencing the new growth and blooms of spring.
