When I think of what following Jesus is all about my heart just begins to boom with JOY. Why you might ask? Because to me following Jesus has been such a beautiful experience. Faith is something that stretches me, it pushes me, and it helps to really learn who the FATHER is and what a beautiful gift it is to call him ABBA. There have been many moments in my walk with God where I’ve drifted just thinking I can do it alone, I’ve got this right?. But, you see your faith journey is not one you are suppose to do on your own. It’s something you are supposed to do with the Lord. It brings you closer and really shows you how big HE is. HE is a God that never leaves. In the deepest valley and the highest mountain, HE is there. HE is in front of you, behind you, beside you, and sometimes even carrying you. We aren’t meant to live this life alone. We need people to encourage us and we need to encourage others. Following Jesus involves a lot of talking with HIM, being in HIS presence, sitting at HIS feet, and relying on HIM. Inviting HIM into your everyday even when things don’t make sense. To me following Jesus means LOVE. A whole lot of love. Loving others sincerely, deeply, and constantly. It is knowing the you are FULLY LOVED, so loved that someone, Jesus, died for you to live for HIM. Following Jesus also involves CHANGE. A change of heart and mind. A change from worry to joy and peace. A change from wanting revenge to wanting to love. It is a change in living comfortable to living called. Following Jesus is obeying. Obeying HIM in the big and even in the small. Its choosing to obey HIS calling over your comfort. To Trust in HIS timing when you want it now. To me following Jesus is living in full SURRENDER to HIM and being willing to do whatever it takes to declare HIS glory. I encourage you to spend time at the feet of Jesus today, you don’t need to ask HIM for anything, just sit there in HIS presence. Listen to what HE is trying to say to you.
