Who would think that just simply walking out of a gate would lead to the sweetest conversation about Jesus? The moment caught me off guard but brought me so much joy. As my teammate and I were closing the gate, a man, named José, was riding his bike towards us. He was wearing a shirt that said “Y’all need Jesus” we told him we loved his shirt but little did we know he didn’t even know what it said because it was in English. We began to translate his shirt into Spanish and once we did his face lit up with so much joy. Raising his hands up to heaven he kept saying “Gloria a Dios”(glory to God) “Dios bendiga” (God bless) “Te quiero hablar a Jesús” (I want to talk to Jesus) José was filled with the Holy Spirit and it was so evident. I am thankful that God shows his love and goodness through something as simple as a shirt. A shirt that once has no meaning at all until the language of it was translated. The translation was the moment God gave us to share the love of Jesus with that man. I am thankful for small moments that have such loud meaning. Those are the things that keep me going. Those are the people I want to be like. Filled with the JOY of the Lord, always. It’s our last week here in Jacò, the place that has become our home for a month. It’s been amazing. It’s been hard, and so many sweet friendships have been made. But wow, God is moving here and what a privilege it has been to watch and take part in it. Now into the next two months, the next adventure, the next moment. Cya soon Nandayure, Nicoya, Costa Rica. I can’t wait to watch God move in you too.
