We can worship whenever we want. Wherever we want. However we want. Loudly. Quietly. To ourselves. Corporately. In a church. At our homes. In public places. We can worship through lyrics or dance, painting, drawing or just music. We are spiritually and physically able to enter the presence of JESUS. We are actually allowed to converse with Him, whenever we want. However we want. Wherever we want.
So…
…why don’t we?….
Why does everything else seem to come first? Why do my friends come before worshipping my Creator and lover of my soul? Why does Netflix and catching up on my favorite shows come before sitting in the presence of Jesus? Why does responding to a text or phone call come before praising Him and spending time with Him? Why do all other relationships I have seem to come second or even third or fourth to Jesus? The Creator of the Universe. The perfect Father. The purest lover. The kindest friend. Why? Why do I struggle so much with putting Him FIRST? Above ALL else? Why is it so easy for me to sing the words that “nothing else will do I just want You” or “Its all about You, it’s all about You, Jesus” or evening “You’re my greatest treasure” and “I’m sorry when I forgot that You’re enough” but not act as if those are true?
So far this month in Malaysia I’m learning how crazy it is that I can sit, stand, sing, dance, etc at PENHOP, in this room, in this building, in this city, in this country and meanwhile, outside there are thousands who do not share that same privilege because they don’t know His name. They don’t know His love. They don’t know His heart. They don’t know His word. Some aren’t even ALLOWED to know Him. Some aren’t even ALLOWED to praise Him, sing His name, know His heart or His word. Yet here I am.. so privileged. Standing and walking in so much love and so much promise that it brings me to tears. Wow. I get to know JESUS. I get to not only know Him but I get the HONOR to speak His name to others. To share Him with others. To introduce the Amazing, Awesome, Powerful, Holy, Healing, Worthy, loving, gentle, kind, sweet, beautiful Jesus to those around me.
“You made Yourself known to every man, we are without an excuse..we are without an excuse.. we are without an excuse…”
Papa, give me the BOLDNESS to walk in Your love. Give me the STRENGTH to speak Your name to those around me. Give me Your eyes to see those You created and the way that You love them. Give me Your ears to hear the cries of those You love who need You or to hear those who desire You. Jesus please give me Your words that I may speak ONLY truth and life over my team, my squad and every single person I come into contact with on this journey. Thank You for loving us so much that You died for us. Thank You for loving us so much that the veil WAS torn and that we CAN enter into Your presence whenever and however we want to worship and praise You. Thank You. Thank You. Amen.
