I live in the comfort of America. So I wake up worried about how my hair looks and which of over 50 outfits I will wear. It is true to say that because of the luxuries that we live with our eyes are not fixed on God. Instead of running to Him when we get sick for healing we turn to Advil. Instead of turning to Him when we are in a rut we turn to Dr. Phil, we seek help from the government or Ellen DeGeneres. He is our last resort. (When did this become OK?)
I have read from other racers and from books by acclaimed authors that this is not how the rest of the world lives…not around Him, but for Him. Every struggle they have they take to God, every thought they have they take to God. We live in a country where God is a last resort. If the medicines, fortune tellers, Tv shows can’t fix our problems then we turn to God.
Well I say no more. I hope in the coming months that I learn to turn to God first, that he is the number one priority in my life. People around the world cling to God for their hope, love, and salvation so should I.
I am going on the world race to gain what others who have nothing in a worldly sense have in a spiritual sense. I will learn so much from the people I encounter and I can not wait. I want God to be number one in my life. There are so many people in the world who need help, who are starving, without water, or dyeing of a disease, they need help. God let me be born into a privileged life, I am blessed. Not so I could live out my days in luxury, but so that I would take what he has given and use it to help others.
