COPY OF MY SUPPORT LETTER
Dear Family and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well! I wanted to write you to let you know about some exciting things that are going on in my life. When I was sixteen, I attended a youth event where the Pastor was speaking on missions. In that moment God began to break my heart for those who have not had the opportunity to hear about our loving Savior. I wasn’t sure when or how; I just knew that God was calling me to missions. Now, 5 years later, God has taken that call and turned it into an uncontrollable passion and desire to go serve “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). He has also revealed the answers to my questions of “when” and “how”. He has shown me that this is the time He has been preparing me for, and exactly how He wants me to serve Him. So here I am, happily condensing my belongings down to a 40lb backpack, quitting my job, leaving my family, and for this next year I will be devoting my life to missions!
I will serve as a missionary through an organization, Adventures in Missions (AIM), in their World Race program. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. My team and I will leave in September of 2012 to go serve in Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam/Laos, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, Ukraine and Romania. As part of the World Race, we will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has given me, and have every confidence that He will provide for my needs! Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. I am writing to you to ask if you would consider partnering prayerfully and financially with me in my ministry. I must raise $15,000 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of my expenses on the field. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as monthly donation, wherein you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 25 people pledge $50 a month for 12 months, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for my trip.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. Checks should be payable to Adventures In Missions. I am very excited to go help change things for God’s kingdom and in turn be changed in the process!
I cannot wait to see how God is going to move in my life and in the lives of others in the coming year.
