I was going to go into detail about how long each flight was and how many hours it took, but by the time we hit our second flight, I had lost track!
What I do know is we left America on Saturday at 3:25 pm, flew for 15 hours to Hong Kong,
had a 5 and 1/2 hour lay over,
flew another 5 or so hours to Kaula Lumpur,
took a train from the Kaula Lumpur airport to the train station, waited for
16 hours, took a 10 hour long train ride to Sengai Patani, and our ministry
contact picked us up from there! It added up to being over 50 hours of travel! Great way to start off the race!!
We got a lot of experience traveling. When we arrived
at the airport in Kaula Lumpur our sqaud leaders were literally like,
"Okay, we are in
Malaysia, go figure out how to get where you need to be!
Good luck!" Thankfully,
I have an amazing team leader and finance manager and we made it here safely!

What I remember from the flight: LONG, FEELING SICK FROM MALARIA MEDS, MOVIES, CANKLES, TOILETS + TURBULANCE DON'T MIX,
NO SLEEP, 2 DINNERS, ARIAL VIEW CAMERA, PLANE LANDED ITSELF AND IT WAS SO SMOOTH,
DID I MENTION IT WAS LONG?!

What I remember from the HK lay over: Leanne and Kaleena getting in trouble by security
for taking pictures, Internet, Having a flash mob wobble session down the run way, starbucks,
Accidentally bending my iphone/ kindle fire while napping for 10 minutes on top of them,
Getting on another plane.

What I remember from KL train station layover: PEOPLE STARING AT US, SQUATTY POTTY POOP
AND PEE EXPLOSIONS, TIM'S SWEET MALAY FRIENDS GIVING US A TOUR OF KL, THE TWIN TOWERS,
HUGE MALL, CHINA STREET MARKET, BEGGIN STRIPS SAUCE (seriously, thats what it smelled like),
STEAMED BAMBOO/COCONUT/BROWN SUGAR DESSERT, EATING A FROG (NOT LEGS..THE FROG), REALIZING WE WEREN'T IN AMERICA ANY MORE!!

What I remember from our train ride to SP: Bullett hole crack in my window, Temp. on train was
definitly below freezing, cigarette smoke, Dangerous squatty potty, People watching our every move
for 16 hours, Not knowing where we are and not being able to see outside because it was dark, None
of the train stops had names, Trying to figure out when our stop was, the man on the train singing
super loud (It was an Islamic prayer that lasts about 10 minutes, 5x a day), The joy the man on the train had when
Erin gave him a piece of "CHOC-OOOOOOH-LOTTT FROM UHHHMMMEERRREEEEEKAH!"
and taught him how to spell "DOLLAR" in his hand,
He loved him some USD 😉

By the way, Don't worry we were able
to find the right train stop to get off at
A kind Malay man on the train spoke English and told us when to get off.
People in Malaysia are usually so sweet to us.
Not all of them speak English where
we are at, but they all know "Hello" and smiles!
Travel was hard!
Especially coming to the relizations that we can't just go see
our family anytime for the next year! I realize now why people were saying to cherish these moments in America and make alot of memories. There is so much we take for granted!

I am so excited for this month! We are so blessed to get to spend it in Malaysia working with the church here. We will be doing hospital
ministry, praying over peoples homes, leading worship, preaching, playing soccer with the youth, doing a talent show and a youth day! I couldn't dream up a better start to our race! Thank you, Lord!

P.s. I barely have enough wifi to post this, so it wont let me upload any pics! There are some on my FB page you can check out until I am able to add them on here!
