Friday nightwas my benefit concert. Leading has never been my strength, I would rather curl up in the fetal position and die….yes, dramatic but so true. I do not desire to lead people. I would rather help and serve. It is easier. Well, God don’t want easy….He wants to sharpen us and to show us His glory in all that we do. So he had me lead and organize my first (and hopefully last) event. There were typos on the flyers, misinformation about the location and time, many people didn’t know about it, and there was confusion in regards to which artists were coming. I felt like I was failing miserably and I just wanted to cancel the event and do something easier to raise funds. There is always something that tends to “go wrong” in life, youjust have to learn to roll with it and continue to praise God through it. In the weeks before the event God truly revealed himself, I didn’t know who to ask for help and what to ask help for. So I just prayed, I asked God to help me. Help he did, several people came to my rescue and helped me in so many ways. One person made cookies for the event, another offered to help set up, and another offered to run the mercy table. I was so blessed! The amazing part is that thesepeople were not the ones closest to me, in fact they were the ones who I didn’t really know too well. I am blown away at Gods faithfulness. To see the body of Christ move in such a way was marvelous. Thatnight I was blessed. I did not leave the same, and if you were there I hope that you can say the same.
Are you ready for a praise report??? OK, ok, ok, ok…..Over $2,000 was raised that night!
I have not updated the status bar above yet, but after doing calculations of the money already in my WR account, the funds from this fundraiser, the monies that have come in to the church office, and the contribution from Global Focus I have raised about $13,000!!! I have about $5,000 more to go now! I have to raise the rest of my funds to cover my $16k for my trip as well as some travel expenses toget to launch and to get home net year. God is so good!!!! There are not enough thank you’s to go around to all of you who have been praying and giving of time and money to help support me. THANK YOU!!!
