Worry can be so easy to come by when preparing to leave everything and everyone you hold familiar for a year of travels around the globe. It seems to creep up when I least expect it, and it is always over the silliest of things. 5 months until leaving and I am going to quit worry cold turkey! I can’t worry about the gear I don’t have yet and how I will acquire it, or the shots I need versus the ones I don’t, what exactly should I pack? etc….one thing I have learned is that every world racer is different. We all have a different God story and a different World Race story. Some of us find our funds coming in a little easier than others, some of us are unemployed and scraping savings together, while others are able to work up until launch. It gets really easy to measure your race by someone else’s race and you compare and want to do all the same fundraising things and buy the same gear and so on, and then you wonder why none of it ever works out. It never works out because you are not living YOUR race you are living someone else’s! Live your race, listen to Gods voice, and be obedient to what God is telling you. Go the way God is telling you to go and it will all turn out great.
I am happy to announce that I am having a benefit concert!! Now, I have to tell you that I tried to plan this the way every one else was planning and it never came to pass. The moment that I submitted to Gods way everything started to come out right. It will be a free event with a love offering to help provide the funds for my gear and vaccinations.
