TennisMy mom always said, “One sided conversations are about as fun as playing tennis with a partner who doesn’t hit the ball back. You keep hitting the ball over the net, and they keep catching it. You hit it over again and they watch.” Well in a lot of ways blogs are like that, a lot more fun when people hit the conversational ball back.

Adventures in Missions is asking us to pick a blog theme for the next year. It can be broad or narrow, but hopefully will be a tool to focus our writing. For example one of the girls this year chose the theme “Riding the Wave.” I am totally struggling with picking one thing. The 96% of me that’s not administrative is wondering how this is possible. We did personality tests during training and I found out that my lowest personality type by far was the beaver, which is facts, figures, structure, administration, giving titles to blogs, etc.

So, in a blatant attempt to get more comments, (the contest for comments doesn’t end until November 30th) and a plea for help, I’m asking for some possible theme ideas. Here were a few sample ideas we were given, “Life on the Edge,” “Mission Possible,” and “Children of Hope.” I want a theme that is relevant to me and dosn’t feel limiting.

Even if you don’t have ideas I would love to get your comments, not just because I want the gift card and am fiercely completive, but because it’s great to hear what you are thinking. Blogs at their best are not about one way communication; they are about creating an online community. My desire for the blog is that people can use the comment section to try out ideas and interact with eachother. I want the comments section to be an outlet for your ideas and spark more conversaion.  Ok, it’s your turn…
