Me, Carro and pretty much everything I own (which is not much anymore) made it to Oregon safe and sound! Thanks so much for your prayers. Maybe the mechanic was wrong and he doesn’t need a new serpentine belt after all.
As the miles sped by and the temperature gradually decreased, my thoughts had a chance to wonder for the first time in days. This last week in San Diego has been a blur, so many wonderful people to see, so many hard goodbyes. As palm trees faded into oaks, and oaks were replaced by evergreens, my thoughts rested on how many selfless things my friends have done for me lately. Here is a photo tour of just a few of the highlights from Tuesday…
I was treated to lunch and given a beautiful journal by Kirstin and Kay who I play Volleyball with…

Matt (the pastor of my Young Adults group) and Tammy his amazing wife have allowed me to set up camp in their guest room rent free for the last 13 days. Having a place to stay made wrapping up my time in San Diego much simpler and eased the feelings of homelessness after moving out of the condo.

Mike spent hours fixing a virus on my computer, saving me A LOT in repair bills. There are still a few kinks to be worked out on my computer but it no longer takes 5 minutes for most programs to open.

Jessica cut and dyed my hair. I had all these great plans to let my hair grow out and be a natural missionary woman, but some of the roots were actually grey and at 25 I could not handle that!!! Maybe this is vain but I hope that they sell hair dye in third world countries. She even gave me the incredibly necessary gift of hair degreasing powder for my many upcoming shower free days.

Below: This picture turned out so cool I couldn’t help but include it, despite the unflattering angle!
