I’m going to a new “home” again tomorrow.
My team will be out in a remote part of
Swaziland working on a project we have begun to refer to as G 42.
There are 95 orphans there, some gogo’s (grandmothers) and pretty much nothing else.
At the moment the orphans get food, sometimes.
Some South African business men who own a game park down the street have committed to helping provide food and resources for the orphans.
Our team will be the first team ever at this site.
We will hopefully help begin some long term projects that will give the orphans and gogo’s means to take care of themselves.
We have been given lots of ideas, start a vegetable garden so that some of the plants can be sold and some can be used for food, build a coy farm, involve the gogo’s in a craft project that will help provide income, etc.
I am not walking in to this G 42 project lightly.
It will likely be the most challenging thing I have faced up to this point on the race.
We won’t have a lot of structure, and will need God’s favor if anything is going to happen.
Please be praying for our team during this time.
Pray for creativity.
Pray that our eyes are open to the needs of these orphans and the ways that God wants to provide for those needs.
My hope is that God will use our team to bridge these orphans with resources.
I want to structure this ministry wisely so that others can come in and continue the work and eventually outsiders won’t even be needed.
