After 26 hours in the air, a day in
London, a stop in
Brazil and lots of yummy British Airways meals, I’ve arrived in

South Africa.
  I already love it here.
One day about two years ago I was in “my office” a.k.a. the youth room alone, singing along to African praise music, and I started crying, asking God, “When do I get to go back?
  When’s it my turn, God?”
I’m so excited that he has answered that cry of my heart.

Our group is staying at a missions base (like a camp) outside

Pretoria.
It’s lovely, quiet and a wonderful place to rest while we wait about a week for our

Mozambique visas to come through.
  It’s starting to sound like

Mozambique will be physically rough.
We will most likely be tent camping with no electricity, which means I don’t get to start in on the fourth season of the O.C. yet.
Most likely our group will be leaving everything except the bare essentials in

South Africa, which means my bag is about to go on an intense crash diet.
The upside is that we are going to be right on the
Indian Ocean, and I love being anywhere tropical.

All in all I am so excited to be somewhere that has such great need.
The Cyclone that devastated the area left hundreds of thousands of people homeless, with out clean water, and destroyed the food supply.
I’m looking forward to assisting in the disaster relief in any way possible.
Please keep all of the World Racers in your prayers, because of the disasters the area we are going into is somewhat unstable.
It’s also going to be hard just to find the everyday things, food, water, soap, etc.
What a great challenge, even though I will miss T.V. on the computer, this is exactly what I signed up for!
