The last week has been an emotional rollercoaster, but I’m having fun on the ride.
After a great talk with my roommate Joy, and a lot of prayer, I’ve decided to enjoy the next two months for all they are worth.
How can you beat living in
San Diego, having a great group of friends and getting the chance to pursue God with more time then ever before?
I was scared to reconnect with people after my short trip, knowing I would just be leaving again but God has changed my attitude.
This week I had the chance to speak at my friend Anne’s Intervarsity group (college ministry) at Cal State San Marcos.
It was wonderful.
I choose to speak on Nehemiah 4:10 which states “Meanwhile, the people in
Judah said, ‘the strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.’”
At this point Nehemiah’s vision of building a wall around
Jerusalem is half way complete.
He has the favor of the king, and everyone is working hard despite tough opposition.
Out of many challenges the one that tires the laborers out most is the rubble they are wading through.
My questions for the group were…
-
What rubble in your life is holding you back from your God given dreams?
-
Are you going to let God clear away that rubble?
I believe that God wants us functioning at our best.
When there is rubble built up in our lives that we haven’t allowed God to clear out it makes us tired and exhausted.
God wants to gently remove the rubble so that we can have a more abundant life and be even more effective.
