My roommates keep making fun of me… deservedly so. The other night we were out and they
asked me how I was getting to LAX today.
My answer, “Oh, I forgot I would need a ride to the airport, but I
ordered a portable foot massager for when my feet hurt after walking.â€  When planning a trip I have a
tendency overlook certain critical details, thankfully I have an amazing
community surrounding me!  Yesterday my roommate Michelle helped me get everything
together for 12 hours straight!  I
am seriously blessed!!!

With my great roommates!!!

The last few days have been filled with refreshing moments
and a crazy amount of taking care of mundane details.  One of my favorite times was at Fill-A-Belly.  Everyone decided that they wanted to
pray for me before leaving.  A tight
circle filled with our homeless guests and volunteers surrounded me and asked God
to bless this trip and use my time in Swaziland.  It was beautiful!

I got to spend the last few weeks seeing friends and family
all up and down the west coast!  A highlight
was seeing one of my mentors from Bend, Oregon, Chris Earwicker.  She reminded me of a conversation that
we had almost 10 years ago.  We
were sitting in the back of a van riding to the airport in Kampala,
Uganda.

“So Morgan, are you ready to move to Uganda?â€  I had gone into the trip excited to
leave everything and work with the orphans there.

“Actually, I’ve been thinking a lot, and I don’t think I’m
supposed to live overseas.  I feel
like I’m made to lead people on mission trips.  I want to bridge people with what’s happening around the
world and empower them to make a difference.â€  Chris and I were both surprised by my response.

Fast-forward almost 10 years and now that dream is becoming
a reality.

Today, I leave in four hours.  Bags are packed (well over packed is more accurate) prayer
send off and pancake breakfast on the 4th was awesome, goodbyes have
been said.  We start walking across
Swaziland in just a few days.
Crazy!!!

If you’re a prayer, here are the things I would love prayer
for!  I’m traveling today – August 10th.

·     Overall Safety — Protection for the team walking
across Swaziland and then safety for Brandon Jones and I as we spend extra time
in Nsoko and Jefferies Bay.

·     Physical Strength — We walk 121 miles across
Swaziland.  I tore my ACL and
cartilage in high school and still have some problems with my knee.  I would love to see God completely heal
what ever is going on.

·     Team Unity — Pray for great relationships within
the team.

·     Great Ministry — I can’t wait to see how God is
going to use our group!

·     Learning — One of my hopes in this trip is to
really learn from a wider perspective what’s going on in Swaziland and how to
help people get involved.

·     Financial Support — I’m about half way to my
monthly support goal, which is super exciting.  My hope is to make it to full support by the time I get home
so I can hit the ground running when I get back!
