Well, I did it! I am now a proud college graduate of East Carolina University. I no longer have to study for difficult exams, spend countless hours conducting research for lengthy term papers or attend monotonous class upon monotonous class. Ha! Yes, these are things that are often associated with the college experience; however my time at ECU will be remembered as a time where my adventure began. This is where I was changed eternally, and became a follower of Jesus Christ.
These past four years, I have had the honor and pleasure of serving every Thursday night at Victory Campus Ministry. It is here where I first encountered the Lord, and discovered what a true tangible relationship with Jesus Christ looks like. Through campus ministry I have seen college students such as myself radically changed and transformed by the Gospel. At VCM I have been surrounded with a family that has built me up, held me accountable, and has both loved and encouraged me through it all. It is here where VCM Staff and Small Group (Bible Study) Leaders have spent so much time equipping me with biblical foundations and “doing life” with me so that I can empower, encourage and teach others. I am truly thankful for VCM, and a sad this chapter is coming to a close. I am however excited for what the Lord has in store for me through the World Race.
My time at East Carolina University and at Victory Campus Ministry has been a rollercoaster of a ride with its ups and downs but the Lord has stuck with me through it all and has made this segment of my life truly rewarding and unforgettable.
