I mentioned in my last blog that I had recently moved from the Lake to Antigua. In the midst of my relocation, I also gained shared responsibility of the house dog, Misha.  I’d like to think of myself as an animal lover; however I was less than thrilled to take on this new responsibility.

To paint a picture of whom Misha is:

One year old pup

Mutt, we’ve tried to speculate and pin-point what breed of dog she is but it still remains a mystery

She is a protector, whose bark is LOUD and unnecessary most of the time

She’s free-spirited and free willed, she goes where the wind blows and doesn’t take direction or correction well

She is a biter

She has an appetite for trash of all varieties

She destroys things; you name it toys, furniture, phones, clothes and shoes.  My Chacos fell victim to her joules and were chewed in three places (Fortunately they we revived by a talented seamstress, Michelle)

So each day someone is assigned to have Misha, where their chore is to watch her and tend her for the whole day.  I have had 2 days so far and each time the Lord has spoken a lot about me through her.  I am a lot like Misha. I am a mess, at times it’s hard for me to be obedient; sometimes I refuse or doubt what the Lord is speaking just to name a few.  But through it all, the Lord has so much patience and His love for me is abundant. In the natural, it would be so easy for a person to see someone’s faults and abandon ship, where the Lord is steadfast and is one that never will. HE loves the mess!

But here are some other things about Misha:

She loves worship, if someone picks up a guitar or someone starts singing, she transforms into a different dog

In the morning, she makes sure to greet everyone to let everyone know that she is awake and alive

She is a master of sitting, shaking and laying down

She is great at sensing when someone is feeling sick or having a bad day and will seek them out

If we are out in town, she discerns danger

Through this revelation, I’ve learned even though it’s easy to see Misha’s faults, deep down she is still loveable. Even though we are flawed, He loves us and we are lovable.

Support Update:

I am so grateful for this opportunity to be a part of what the Lord is doing here in Guatemala. As many of you know, in order for me to stay here I need to raise support, which as it stands $1,000 more. If 20 people give $50, then I would be full funded until my commitment ends in July. What I’ve found is that for those who support and those who give are just as important as those who are being sent. It is a partnership that works together. With that being said, if you are interested in partnering with me you can do so by just clicking the “Support Me” link in the donate online you can do upper left side of the page. All donations are tax-deductible and we will send you a receipt for your donation. or if you are interested in learning more please contact me at [email protected]
