During this month in Romania, R Squad was given the opportunity to work with Hope Church.  Hope Church was started by a man named Raul Costea, our host this month, and has been spreading the Gospel far and wide.  We were able to work with a variety of ministries and were given the opportunity to see so much fruit the last several weeks.  Trying to explain everything we did seems daunting, so instead I will give you an overview of some of the ways Hope Church has been impacting the Kingdom just these couple weeks (Hope Church actually does much more for the community than I am going to explain, but for sake of time – mine and yours – I will only explain what we were able to see).

Greece

Hope Church not only does a lot for Romania, but is involved internationally, as well.  They have ties in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece.  Our squad was able to go to Thessaloniki, Greece with Raul to help Hope Church start their ministry there.  We were able to share the Gospel, help churches extend invitations to the community, pray over the community, and get additional contacts for both AIM and Hope Church to continue ministry in Greece.

New Testament Project

During our time in Draganesti-Olt, Romania, we got to participate in the New Testament Project with Hope Church.  We split into groups with translators and traveled to different villages to pass out New Testament Bibles.  Many people in these villages do not have Bibles, so this was an opportunity to give them a gift, share the Gospel, and pray for so many people.  Our goal was for every home we passed to get a Bible.

Your Kingdom Come

Since videos are a bit more interesting than reading what I write, here is a video explaining what our squad has been doing every morning while in Romania.

Trash Project

One of our first days in Romania our squad was able to walk around the city of Draganesti-Olt and pick up some of the trash seen around the city.  We had translators come with us so we were able to share the Gospel with members of the community while we tricked trash up.

Church in Coteana

My team was able to work with Daniel Opris at his church in the village of Coteana.  During our time here we gave testimonies, sang songs, got to know people in the village and pray for them.  My teammates and I were able to share parts of our story and encourage the 7 believers Coteana has.

 Widow’s Ministry

My team also had the chance to work with Dorothy Reid and her ministry loving widows in several different villages around Draganesti.  We bought them groceries, hand-delivered them, spent time with them, sang for them, prayed for them, and got to love them.

Getting to do so many different ministries was an incredible experience.  Not only were we able to see how God is working in Romania (in so many ways), we are able to see the specific gifts and talents God has given us in ministry.  Hope Church isn’t just telling people about Jesus…They are empowering others to do the same, loving people with all their heart, and trusting God to provide everything they need.  Month 2 has been a wonderful success.  So many people heard the Gospel, people accepted Christ, and we got to love our entire squad through the whole thing.

Africa!

We are headed to Malawi, Africa tomorrow!  Pray for R Squad as we travel and adjust to Africa living – it will be a little different than Europe 🙂  My team will be located in Nkotakota and will work with Harvest Ministries doing street to street evangelism, preaching, praying, sports ministry, children’s ministry, etc.

Support!

In order to continue my ministry on the Race I need to raise an additional $2,200 by October 1.  I am convinced that God wants to have me on the Race for the entire 11 months my squad will be here.  If you, or anyone you know, has a vision to see our Kingdom grow a little bit bigger and is interested in supporting me (even if it is a little) I would love to chat with them through email ([email protected]).
