The first full week of ministry was so good but also challenging and eye opening. I’m going to share a few pictures that I hope you all will enjoy!

My team and I participated in a lot of outreach. We would go out into the community and talk to people about Jesus. Sometimes we would just sit outside, sometimes we would go into their homes, and sometimes we would help with laundry or other tasks that they needed help with. Typically we go out in groups of 4 or 5 and have a translator with us. One day we did not have a translator but everyone we came across spoke great English! In the picture above my team and I had the opportunity to share the story of Jonah with three high schoolers. One wants to be a lawyer, another a carpenter, and the other a pilot. At the end of our time together they all said that they wanted to follow Jesus! Another boy came up at the end and the three we had just talked to share the story of Jonah with him. Later that day we saw one of the boys and he said that he had shared the story with his uncle. It was amazing watching God move in these young men’s lives!

Another ministry we took part in was Jabulani kids or JK for short with means happy. I love working with kids so this time was really special for me. We sang, played games, learned a Bible verse, got to hear a Bible story, and handed out a sweetie or candy at the end. It’s so fun seeing the kids light up during this time! This little one here came and stood beside me so I picked her up and slowly she started to smile!

Many days when doing outreach, we would eat lunch at one of Impact Africa’s preschools in Diepsloot. After going out in the hot sun and ministering all morning, these kiddos came up to me after I had finished my lunch and cheered me up before we headed out again in the afternoon.

Here’s a picture of my team for anyone who was wondering who I’m with!
