“But it’s in the Bible” Mama (our contact) said to me as a response to my comment after church. During church a girl came forward and it was said she had a demon inside of her. The pastor and the church members started praying for her and commanding the principality out of her. We were told the child’s aunt was a witchdoctor. I am sitting there taking this all in. This is not the first experience on the race that I have experienced the presence of demons. Those of you, who know me, know I am a very skeptical person. So I tend to push the thought of demons or spiritual warfare out of my mind, and just go along with it. Then it hit me, when I told Mama that I do not have any understanding of demons or spiritual warfare. Her response “it’s in the Bible”. That’s right it is in the Bible many many times.
It had me thinking what else is in the Bible that I seem to be so skeptical about. God speaking to me, prophecy, miracles, healing, I could go on and on. When I became a Christian it was super hard for me to fully believe that the Bible was completely written by God, through people. I do now fully believe the Bible is truth and God breathed, so why was I so hesitant to believe in the power of healing, or prophecy, or the existence of demons in the world today?
So I say to all of you what Mama said to me “ But it’s in the Bible”. Go see for yourself. You can start by looking in the book of Mathew.
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10
“Then Jesus said “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God”
John 11:40
“Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus”
Acts 4:30
